More pics....

I was experimenting with my PhotoShop...I still need to learn how to use it. Here are a few more pics I tweaked.

Crashed!!!

Our weekend started off with FUN, FUN, FUN at the school carnival. We had two fabulous sitters of ours come along to keep an eye on the kiddos while Brent and I worked the food both.

Ahh, yes just like old times working together at Chili's!!! It was magical, I would take the order and he would fill it....took me back 13 years or so! My how that chemistry never changes...lol! We do make a darn good "food line" team, that I cannot deny! Seems like every time we volunteer to work, we choose the food booth, I suppose it is what we are comfortable with. I like the hustle, bustle of taking orders...he loves being in charge of the GRILL...such a guy!

Unfortunately, Anna was unable to go to the carnival due to her "unsportsmen like conduct" at home. She has been acting up lately, we are not sure what is going on in her little head. However, a sassy mouth will get you nowhere fast. She knew after strike three she was going to be benched. I think secretly she enjoyed Emma's one-on-one attention.
Lucas(8) Lake (6)

Last evening we had some friends over, it was a fun-filled night! The kids played in the yard until you could no longer see the grass and then they were inside for more action. They were funny, Lake the younger of the two, got a Nerf game, kind of like laser-tag. The boys were running all over the yard shooting and getting each other with the nerf-darts. It was hysterical!!! I want that game!!!

In the end, it seemed a bit flip-flopped, the kids were watching a movie and the adults were playing Wii. Does that seem backwards?? The kids were up late and needless to say they are still crashed! I love to watch them sleep....aren't they sweet?

Madi where is your face?
During the spring and fall, my cats love to sit in the window sill. We got new windows and they lost their little ledge they used to sit on, Carley ( aka: Fat Cat) is clearly missing her ledge!

Chloe on the other hand, would prefer to sit and play "watch cat". She will sit
out the windows like this for long periods of time. She loves to watch the birds, bunnies, & yes even the flies! Silly kitty!
Mom.....look at the one...yes ONE bloom on the transplanted plant (plum??) in the back yard. This is the one Frank called the pile of sticks in the ground last year! YEAH...it survived and is doing GREAT! The other one, has some growth, but not like this! Come home soon, I need help in the yard! :-) Yes, I have a brown thumb!

Happy Sunday everyone...hug your little ones tight & thank Jesus for ALL of your blessings large & SMALL!

Heat Wave....

Warm air, warm sun, warm weather clothes....SO NICE! We are certainly enjoying this nice weather to the fullest! Madi & I got outside yesterday after school and finally took some pictures. Although it was very sunny, hopefully something turned out!

The girls are going to try out softball at the beginning of this next month. We are looking forward to that. We stopped into the local sports store and picked up gloves, balls and a new bat! I must say they looked awfully cute learning how to catch and throw that ball! Anna has a natural arm! Hitting the ball is another thing, look out....she may hit you with the bat instead! HaHa!

This week was spirit week at Charter Oak. They girls had- FAVORITE TEAM day...can you guess what daddy put them in???

Not too many days left of school, summer is close at hand! I am looking forward to cooking on the grill and lazy days at the pool! :-)

Hug your babies...TGIF! (Almost!)

New Video

Here is another "Montage" created on OneTrueMedia, gotta love it! Anna asked me to put her pictures to music, WOW how technically advanced our children are! I was planning on taking pictures of Madi today however it is rainy and BLAH outside and she prefers to VEG in front of the TV in her new jammies. I questioned if she was sick, she said "No, just choosing to hang out!" HAHA, gotta love it! LAZY DAY!

Enjoy!

Sunshine Girl

Funny how a mood can change...like the weather. Anna wanted to sit on the porch and play "photo shoot" as we so often do. The day was overcast and her hair was looking awfully cute, here are the results...

Bad Mommy.....

Ahh yes, how many mothers out there have been told they are mean? Or that they don't love their child? I know, it is something we all hear from our little darlings at one point or another. But at the tender age of six? Oh my little spit fire, yes she is...I must say that girl has a stubborn streak in her (no idea where that comes from!) Today we asked her to make her bed before breakfast, a normal request. Oh no....not today...she was not having it!!! She threw the biggest stomping yelling, on the floor fit! Where it came from? We have no idea!!?!? We thought we had been time warped back into the terrible twos....it was almost comical. She hollered "You don't love me....you are the meanest parents EVER!" Of course that earned her a ONE WAY ticket to her bedroom to cool her little independent jets! Haha! My goodness are we feeling are way around childhood! :-) I keep reminding myself, grain of salt!

Bless her little soul, among the chaos of Anna's fits of rage, Madelyne snuck in her room and made her bed for her. Then Anna cried even louder "Now I 'm never going to eat breakfast AGAIN!" Oh. these are the things I must document, as they are so very funny! We told Anna she owed her sister and Anna proceeded straight to the kitchen...so Anna! Once she had her breakfast her mood instantly changed!

I think spring has finally SPRUNG and we are on our way to a reprieve from the cool weather! YAAAAHOOOO! The kids played outside last night until way past dark, a first of the season, it was a balmy 74 degrees yesterday...so nice! We set up the girls soccer net they got for Easter and had 11 kids in our backyard last night playing. It was almost enough for a real game! The kids were having a great time.

Our front tree is finally blooming and looks as beautiful as ever, this year I had to capture the flowers before they were gone. Here you go mom...now you won't miss it. Well, this is mine, not quite the same!

Wishing everyone a relaxing weekend~

(I am happy to report....I have my lesson plans DONE for my 8th grade for the rest of the year...now that feels good.....I see the light!)

Happy Easter Everybody!

Wishing everyone a HOPPY EASTER!!!!!!

I hope that everyone had a great day filled with family & Jesus!
We had a lovely morning full of WONDERFUL food cooked by Betty Crocker herself, and the children enjoyed hunting for Easter Eggs OUTSIDE! They were all over the yard. Thank you Lori, Jim, Joshua (dude- you give up your room every time- you rock!) Emily (this time you sacrificed your room too!) & Matthew for hosting such a very Brady...or "Maddox" Easter! You guys know how to host...you are getting good, let me tell you! We all had so much fun, thank you so much for having us! I am sure you are ready for your house to return to NORMAL! 13 people in one house is A LOT!

For us, well we jumped back in our car at 9:30 am Eastern time and were filled with lots of FAMILY time. We started out with a BANG, literally after I slammed my big toe in the car door. How does one do that? Not only that but my left toe, and I was the passenger. Just ponder over that for a moment.... OKAY well that just begins our 5 hour tour of Ohio, Indiana, & Illinois. We need to travel more, my children do not do well in small confined spaces. In fact, I was ready to leave a few family members on the side of the road by the end o
f our travels. One of them was myself...haha! :-)

Ahh...but they were sooooo excited to pull in our neighborhood. In fact, they were counting 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.....SO CUTE! Our kitties were very happy to see the girls as well!
Beautiful blessings in our children....

Greetings from Cincy!
We made it, better really late than never right??? LOL
We did make it in VERY late last night. After the kids got up today we discovered that Madi did in fact have strep throat and she began her antibiotics! She is not feeling so hot today...poor girl. I gu
ess we are not going to make it to the "Hannah Montana" movie after all. :-( Bummer!
It is ok Anna, we will go another day! We have enjoyed the company and just hanging out! Tonight we are planning on a big meat free meal....(good Lenten Catholics) & vino! Of course, we have an evening of family games planned! I will be off to see a friend from high school- can't wait to see you Steph! We will color eggs & prepare for Easter. We will also go to Easter Vigil tomorrow night.

Enjoy your family! Hugs your kids & hold them tight!

Spring Break.....what a break!

April 9, 2009

Beginning this Blogger idea (thanks Janelle! ) as if I need one more thing to 'mess around with' LOL. Thought I would give it a shot, something different to do. This may require memory on my part...uh oh!

Anna turned SIX...yes SIX last weekend! it is hard to believe my youngest is 6 yrs old. No more baby in our home! She has grown into such a spit fire, quite a young lady with a mind of her own. She is learning the word "boundary" oh so quickly, yet she will melt your heart with her love and smile. My banana! :-)

I have been off for the week, I would like to say that I have accomplished everything on my list---yeah right! More like a few things on my list. However, I have gotten lots of R/R and I suppose that is what a "BREAK" is all about.

The girls have been in Ohio, visiting with their cousins, they have had the time of their life. I think they may have given their Aunt Lori a run for her money!!! Although my kids DID get a taste of "Slusser Runnin" which is non-stop Sun-Sat! Lori doubles as a taxi cab driver at night!
Brent and I are headed to Ohio for Easter to join the rest of the family. Everyone will be there, except Chris, who is in London.

Wishing all of our friends and family a wonderful & relaxing Easter weekend! Hug your little ones tight and hold your family close!
