Three Silly Gooses!
The flowers around my lamppost.
With summer break here, the Conn kiddos have been OUTDOORS 24/7 (or so it seems).
You know, recently we made a decision to eliminate cable TV from our home for several reasons. First and foremost, we felt the kids spent too much time parked on the couch. YES, we too were guilty of too much TV time, but the kids seemed to be the worst. Even when we put a pass code on the TV, they would migrate to the ONE that did not have a pass code. We felt that they were seeing and hearing too much that was influencing them in a negative way. As parents, we can only protect our kids so much, but Brent and I felt we needed to do what we could at home.
How this child loves to swing!

All I can say is WOW! What a difference a little less TV has made in our home. Yes, it was VERY hard at first, but we have gotten used to it and believe it or not I started my second novel yesterday. (I began the first late last week.) We are spending SO much more time together doing what we need to be doing, being a family! The best part of it all, our kids are FINALLY playing outside like normal kids! For the longest time we would have such a struggle getting them to go out, now, they are only in when the weather is ICKY! I know that God was trying to tell us something the day he told us enough is enough! Not to mention the money we are now saving, which does not hurt at all with Brent's layoffs this summer!

Can you say.....NO Sissy! ( yes we were having a BOSSY moment!)
This weekend we had our annual Hunington Garage sale, we did OK. It was no Weaver Ridge sale, but we did ok. We did manage to make enough to purchase the matching sofa to our love seat and chair set. This will go in our great room. I am excited to turn this into a TV room. The sofa should be in in a few weeks and we will do some TV switching and get the room all set up. I will add photos as soon as it all happens. Madi loved helping with the sale and Anna, well she just loved running all over the neighborhood with the other neighbors!
Madi and Dina sat and posed today for me, oh how they love the camera! Little cheesers! These two are just the best of buds, I love to see their friendship grow! Today we were gone for a while and as soon as we pull in, here comes Dina! Gotta love her! If I could I would adopt her!

~ TWO PEAS IN A POD~

The girls and I spent today watching old videos of them. My how time goes by so fast. I can hardly remember them so little! I see those videos and wonder where my babies went?!? It all goes by in a blink, you are so busy living it, you don't have time to enjoy it. Thank goodness for video, it captures those funny & sweet moments forever!

Hug your babies...they grow so fast!
